Hotel Review: Four Seasons Seattle, WA

With a day and a half to kill before heading to Olympic National Park, I used my American Express Platinum credit card points to splurge and book a free overnight stay at the Four Seasons in Seattle, WA. Luckily, the American Express Platinum Card comes with a few perks, including 12pm check-in, when available, guaranteed 4pm checkout, a $100 experience credit to use on in-room dining and drinks, $80 breakfast credit for two, complimentary wifi, and a room upgrade upon arrival, if available. Keep reading to learn what it was like staying at this 5-star luxury hotel for the first time.

Watch my review of the Four Seasons Seattle:

Upon arrival, we valet parked our rental car for $65 a night. Once checked in, we were given a paper listing the AMEX benefits, then made our way to our room on the 7th floor.

As soon as we entered our room, we noticed a cake on the table since this trip was for my brother’s belated birthday.

Within 10 minutes of settling in, the doorbell rang and our bags arrived. It was awesome when Alexander, who brought up our luggage, gave us tips on how and when to spot Orcas and which locations to visit within Olympic National Park. Alexander provided us with notes for us to take on our adventure and even showed us video footage of whales he caught on his phone while at the Four Seasons with a similar view as our room. We made sure to tip him as he was a walking Encyclopedia.

From valet, to front desk, to baggage porters and bellhops, everyone was extremely courteous, and personable. Some staff offered tips on what to see and do at Olympic National Park.

Birthday cake and fresh fruit

After talking about whales and hiking trails, we decided to try the cake, which was decadent, moist, not too sweet, and had a white chocolate and vanilla flavor. The frosting was just right and paired nicely with coffee.

Room Tour

The room was complete with two beds and an amazing view of Miners Landing at Pier 57. (Note, I asked for a third bed as a test run to see if I could stand staying in a future cruise cabin with my brothers as we've never been on a cruise, but it's on my travel wishlist).

In the room, there was also a Nespresso coffee area, four cartons of Four Seasons branded water, a fridge full of drinks and alcohol, a nice-sized TV, and spacious closets.

Spacious room fit 3 beds comfortably

Clearly, my brothers slept well as they were snoring. Surprisingly, my extra bed with a window view was extremely comfortable and I slept like a baby.

Double beds

In between the double beds were USB ports and next to the TV, there were multiple outlets to charge our devices. There was also an airplane on the table between the beds that could be taken home for $35.

The Four Seasons hotel is centrally located to Pike Place Market, Miner's Landing, the Aquarium,  Post Alley, Bubble Gum Alley, the Space Needle, and Chihuly Glass and Garden. I loved how everything was within walking distance except for the Space Needle. The valet guys laughed when I told them I didn't expect so many hills to climb. It was a workout.

View from the 7th floor

Although we had this amazing view, I wasn't lucky enough to spot any whales from our window.

Bathroom

The bathroom was complete with a deep tub, huge shower, and a separate toilet area. I thought it was awesome seeing a TV built into the mirror. It was my first time seeing this and it felt "futuristic."

I loved the scent of the Grown Alchemist hand wash consisting of sweet orange, sage, and cedarwood.

The bathroom was reminiscent of a spa experience and the lighting was warm, water pressure was great, and I enjoyed the Grown Alchemist scents.

In-Room Dining Experience

For dinner, we used the $100 experience credit and ordered fillet mignon, a burger, and clam chowder through the Four Season’s app. The food was so flavorful and the steak was cooked medium rare. We finished our plates.

Goldfinch Filet Mignon $66

The Filet Mignon had a spicy taste and I believe it was from the green peppercorn sauce. The dish came with a side of Broccolini and Beecher’s White Cheddar Whipped Potatoes.

Goldfinch Burger $29

The medium-rare burger was tasty and my brother Steven finished the entire plate. It consisted of American Wagyu, Beecher’s Cheese, Smoked Onion Marmalade, Fennel Aioli, and Fries.

My brother mentioned how good the burger was while we were sightseeing the next day. It was that good.

Goldfinch Clam Chowder $18

The chowder was flavorful, hearty, creamy, and consisted of Dungeness Crab, Bacon, Clams, and Oyster Crackers.

Again, using the app and the $80 credit for breakfast, I ordered eggs, bacon, and a pot of coffee and a of pineapple juice.

Breakfast with a view of Miners Landing and the Ferris wheel

This was the best breakfast I've had consisting of buttery scrambled eggs, thick bacon, and crispy hash browns. My brothers got sausage instead of bacon and yet again, we cleaned our plates. I ordered a decaf oat milk latte and it was delicious as well. My brother ordered green tea.

The Gym

The gym at the Four Seasons was clean and had the usual exercise equipment, including a Peloton, row machine, treadmills, elliptical, weights, and more. My brother woke up and did a workout at 6am.

Gym on the 4th floor

Next to the gym on the 4th floor was the pool, hot tub and fire pit along with a nice seating area.

We loved the late 4pm check-out since it allowed us to visit the Space Needle, Chihuly Glass and Garden, and we even went shopping. Once we got back to the room, we had time to take a nap before checking out around 3pm to make our way to Bainbridge Island via ferry and then to Port Angeles to check into our Airbnb at 4pm. The whole reason we made this trip from Los Angeles was to check out Olympic National Park.

Overall, I was amazed at the hospitable service, the cleanliness, and the delicious food. The Four Season Seattle gets a 10/10 rating. Our total bill for valet parking, and dining overages came out to just $180.05 (not including tips, which we handed to everyone in the form of cash). Not bad for a stay on credit card points and in-room dining credits at the Four Seasons Seattle!
