Review: Escape Lounge at Sacramento International Airport

While traveling back to Los Angeles, CA from Sacramento after attending The Oddities & Curiosities Expo on October 26, 2024, I heard about the Escape Lounge - The Centurion® Studio Partner. The lounge is an extension of the American Express Centurion Network. Having used the Centurion Lounge at LAX, I decided to give the Escape Lounge a try and it did not disappoint.

Location

If you’re at Sacramento International Airport (SMF), go through security on the second floor and off to the left, you’ll see the Escape Lounge next to the food court. It’s located in Terminal A.

The lounge is located right before you enter Gate A10.

Checking In

Entering the lounge was fast and easy. You simply show your AMEX Platinum credit card and you’re granted access. Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Card Members also have access (provided you’re traveling on a Delta-marketed flight that day). Priority Pass members also have access but it’s important that you have your card on you.

Seating

There were plenty of seats inside the lounge located in the center and booths were off to the right side in front of the display of outbound and incoming flights. I appreciated the charging ports that allowed me to power up my cell phone, iPad Air, and my headphones.

Food

While the offerings weren’t as plentiful as the LAX Centurion Lounge, it was still good to enjoy a warm breakfast, cookies, and muffins. For breakfast, I opted for scrambled eggs, sausage, and hash browns. There was also cereal, yogurt, and oatmeal as options.

Drinks

Like the American Express Centurion Lounge, there was a bar inside offering complementary cocktails, beer, Diet Coke, Sprite, regular Coke, juices, coffee and tea.

Overall Thoughts

While there weren’t any restrooms to use inside this lounge, they were located outside by the gates across the way. This lounge was a great place to hang out for 2-hours before boarding our flight. Free WiFi, complimentary wine, and warm food. Lounges are great as they’re a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the airport.
